I have recommended a BUY on CHOLAMANDALAM INVESTMENT AND FINANCE ( Formerly - Cholamandalam DBS) @ Rs.82 on 8 March 2010 .( Old posting HERE)
.Now it is trading around Rs.290 /- ,an appreciation of 350 %
in 3 years.Recommending to SELL 30 % of the original quantity and
HOLD the remaining as cost free.

Dear Sir,
ReplyDeleteWhat's your view on stake change in EPC and transfer of the scrip from T to B. How it is going to affect the price movement in medium term?
Shall be garateful for your views.
Regards.
Due to some changes in business model and delay in subsidy releasing by many state governments to micro irrigation sector, company's from this sector may show some muted performance in business growth for the next few more quarters. But I believe ,for an investor with patience to hold the stock for some long term,it is an excellent stock to stick with.
ReplyDeleteDear Sir,
ReplyDeleteWant to know your views on PetLNG and IGL for medium to long term?
Thanks & regards
Reasonably optimistic about Petronet LNG for long term .Not tracking IGL
Deletevp sir,
ReplyDeletethank you for your stock analysis and patient clarifications of all our queries.sir for the past 2 years i have been holding educomp solutions.it has not been able to give good returns.what is your take on the scrip and should i switch over to some other stock or hold on.
Increasing competition reduced the margins of this sector and some default of payment issues also reported. There should be a consolidation in this business before any up move which may take some long time.
DeleteHello Sir,
ReplyDeleteI have read your blog extensively and found it very interesting.I am new to doing research on companies and would like to have your view on one company that I think has potential : Kesar Terminals and Infrastructure. The company have very low debt, has been paying a regular dividend, has improved cash flows and in addition looking to expand its present capacity going forward. In addition, the infra sector as such is out of favour which may be surprise positive for the company.Having said that, there are many other things that can affect whether the potential of company gets realised or not such as quality of management etc. on which I have almost no insight If you could let me know you thoughts on this comapany, more so what would your recommendation had been if you had analysed this company, it will help me a great deal
Sorry Not tracking Kesar Terminal

ReplyDeleteI think your question is mainly due to its holding in some other companies. But I am not very positive on these type asset valuation stories and not believing the managements of these type companies use these assets to give some benefits to its minority share holders. In this case there may be some operator driven movements in future based on some possible news flow, but nothing to comment on that.
DeleteHello Sir,
ReplyDeleteWhat are your views on BEML @280 for a 2-3 year investment horizon?
Regards

Buy in small lots if you have patience to wait till the mentioned time frame.
DeleteHello Sir
ReplyDeleteCould you at this point of time again discuss your views on sugar stocks. These stocks are almost at their 52- week lows again (I am particularly talking about Bajaj Hindusthan).
Please disucuss the worst case scenario (I mean to ask the maximum time span you think the sugar stocks can come out of present situation). Since they are available at cheap dirt price, I dont think there is a chance to lose money in stocks like Bajaj Hindusthan since I can hold these for quite a good period of time. Please let me know your views so that I take a final call in parking my money in sugar stocks.
Thanks in advance.
Down side seems limited in many of these stocks,an early decision on price decontrol report may act as a trigger.
DeleteHello,
ReplyDeleteAs suggested by you earlier about the growth of mangalam cement. Last 2 days the share has gone down by 15-16 rupees. The news is the mangalam cement and mangalam timber de-merge has happened. How do you see this will impact Mangalam cement.
Dear Friend
DeleteFrom where you got this news ? . Mangalam Timber is already listed in stock exchanges ,then how it can be de-merged from Mangalam Cement ? .Earlier Mangalam Cement decided to merge Mangalam Timber with itself but later it dropped that plan.
VP Ji,
ReplyDeleteCan we buy Yes Bank at CMP of 515. If no, what would be the good entry level.
Manmohan Garg
Yes Bank once recommended at Rs.327 .This is a good one and every chance to outperform .Entry at this level depend on your risk profile and holding period.
