Dear Friends
In recent times many readers ,especially new investors are suggesting to recommend some books worth reading. As you are aware, most of the popular books on Capital market and related subjects are written by Western authors and the terms and terminologies are explained in such books are based on Western background .Some of them are with lot of technical jargon ,chart and equations ..etc which are beyond the reach of an average reader and only to create more confusion .So I would prefer to suggest a small book name "HOW BUFFETT DOES IT " written by James Pardoe. This is a small book with just 150 pages and costs around Rs.300 ( Online store link HERE) .I believe this book will help you a lot to become a disciplined investor .
* This is only for Investors ( Especially for beginners ) and not for Traders

Dear VP,
ReplyDeleteEven "One up on Wall Street" by Peter Lynch is another great book for beginners in value investing.
Regards,
Pratul
I have read this book and I second your opinion on it. Meaningful and simple ways to understand value investment. Keep up the good work!
ReplyDeleteDear Sir,
ReplyDeleteU never reply to my post. I really look forward to ur post and recommendations and they really mean a lot to me. Please suggest how would you rate GVK power and infrastructure and PTC india.
Thanks a lot sir
Preeti
Mot tracking both these companies.Without tracking the management of a company for a long time and also its share price movement ,I can't comment .Otherwise that may be misleading and may give only opposite result.
DeleteDear VP Sir I'm holding Vesuvius India at it's 52 week high, though I'm a long term investor but I'm now worried about it's potential upside. Please guide. My buy price is Rs.465.
ReplyDeleteRecommended this stock @ Rs.251 .Company is very good but your purchasing price is too high ,considering short to medium term.In long term ,once there is improvement in Steel and related sectors ,this may perform
DeleteThanks, it cost Rs 264 on homeshop18 against Rs 297 on flipkart (10 % cheap)....JFI who wants to buy.
ReplyDeleteSir, your view on l&t finance for short term perspective (7-12) days please.
ReplyDeleteThanks in advance.
Regrds
What fundamental change you are expecting in this company in the next 7-12 days ?
DeleteInteresting investor . Expecting change in 7-12 days :)
DeleteDeepak,Can we call him as an 'Investor' ?
DeleteNo. definitely not! He is gambling. :(
DeleteWhat an investor.. His short term investment is spread over a period of 7-12 days... Then the long term investment in his view must be a very long period of 30-40 days...
DeleteSir... Kindly provide your view onthe below two stocks. It was your old recommendations.
ReplyDelete1. Tecpro Systems
2. Rapicut Carbides
Thanks
Ashok
Issue of both cos are slightly different.Rapicult is facing general slow down in the industry while Tecpro's issue is huge debt burden ,in addition.
DeleteHi Valuepick,
ReplyDeleteWhat is your take on Liberty Shoes 3rd quarter result.
Result seems very good, the question is whether they will be able to achieve 500 cr turn over in this FY.
Being a small investor, i gave a lot of weightage to companies whose management can walk the talk at least....if not deliver more than that.
regards,
Shanid V H
Result is not bad but whether it is upto market expectation is the question.
DeleteCould you please tell me how can I reach management of a company to raise any concerns/grievances.
ReplyDeleteThanks!
If you are a share holder attend the AGM ,or directly contact with the Company Secretaty
DeleteSir please guide me on below 3 stocks for 2-3 years horizon:
ReplyDelete1. Zyduss Wellness
2. JK Tyre
3. Gati
Hold JK tyre.Whether it is suitable for 2-3 year depends on many factors .Track the factors affecting the business, especially the trend of NR price and growth of auto sector and decide accordingly.
DeleteNot tracking the rest
Dear value pick, I have also read this book. This is surely one of the best book for the beginners. There is another book - Tao of warren buffett - in which there are some quotations and advises of buffett with examples.
ReplyDeleteThankyou
